The AA Degree is a general education and pre-professional degree designed to provide you with skills and competencies in a wide range of subjects and is a stepping-stone on the way to further educational goals. Designed especially for working adults, the accelerated online AA degree is offered in 5 week segments.

This program is flexible and focused. Business Core is a fully online business pathway involving eight-week classes from within the AA in Liberal Arts degree program. This credit program satisfies all of the requirements for the AA degree in Liberal Arts and also provides students with solid knowledge and skills to be successful in entering a university Human Development and Family Studies program. This concentration will provide students with the foundation understanding of ecological systems-based study of lifespan development and family resource management to prepare them for curriculum that further emphasizes the study of child, adolescent, adult development; family development such as marriage and parenting ; family resource management such as consumer and family economics and family management ; community needs; and leadership in human services occupations.

This concentration provides students with the foundation to be successful in entering university Bachelor of Science programs and future careers in Social Work. The purpose of the concentration in Social Work is to create a clear pathway for students interested in transferring to a 4-year institution with a Bachelor's degree in the area of Social Work. Entry-level positions in the workplace are practiced in a wide variety of settings.

This baccalaureate program delivered through Distance Education has been established as a transfer program for students who have completed the first two years of coursework freshman and sophomore in-person or online at UH Maui College, from a community college in the UH system, or from an accredited institution outside of the UH System. The mission of the program is to prepare graduates to be productive professionals who can make responsible business decisions and use information technology wisely in a changing world.

The curriculum emphasizes business, cyber security, and data science and stresses the effective use of information technology. The program also includes a strong interdisciplinary liberal arts program with courses in the humanities, social sciences, English, communication, and statistics.

The Accounting curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of accounting and the skills necessary to analyze, evaluate and report financial information as well as identify local and international issues that affect the business environment. General Business Administration students benefit from a broad educational experience that is relevant to many functional areas in the private or public sector, self-employment and entrepreneurship, and are well prepared to meet the challenges of an ever-changing global marketplace.

The program is a great foundation for a wide range of careers in sales, project management, business development, retail, government, education, human resource management, finance, accounting, information technology and much more.

Graduates are also well prepared to pursue advanced degrees such as a Master of Business Administration or Accountancy. In addition to receiving a strong foundation in business objectives and processes, studies are provided with an understanding of management principles as it applies to business ethics, entrepreneurship, human resources and operations.

Management students will gain critical thinking skills necessary for effective managerial decision making in dynamic and diverse work environments. The study of Marketing involves analyzing processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners and society at large.

Marketing students learn to evaluate and develop advertising, public relations, and direct mail campaigns as well as examine the science of consumer behavior and business in the context of promotion and publicity. Students pursuing a concentration in Marketing will be exposed to an interdisciplinary business curriculum including finance, economics, information systems, accounting and management.

Course requirements address development and maintenance of existing artistic skills; foster support for a broader understanding of related disciplines including humanities and technology; and provide experience in working in multidisciplinary teams on realistic problems.

Majors study a wide range of current economic policy issues and learn theoretical and empirical methods for analyzing these issues. As an option for students with no college credits, the College of Social Sciences Aloha Pathways Online program allows a student to complete the first two years of general education requirements online through a partnership with the Leeward Community College. After exploring a range of disciplinary approaches, upper-level students then move on to develop disciplinary depth in emphasis field s of their choice, selecting from a range of coursework influenced by cultural and rhetorical theory; drama and film studies; media theory; language and composition studies; literary criticism; and writing workshops.

Finally, students apply this knowledge in a culminating senior project or practicum that engages the English studies emphases of their choice from original, critical, and transdisciplinary perspectives. This Interdisciplinary Studies BA in Social Sciences of Oceans is a fully online degree designed to offer students training in social science approaches to addressing complex problems related to our oceans and island societies.

This online degree program offers students interdisciplinary approaches to studying issues of global importance, such as governance and nationhood; identity and inequality; resource management and development; and the movements of peoples and cultural forms.

Taking our location in the middle of the Pacific seriously, the program centers Oceania and the voices of Pacific Islanders.

Designed for working adults, this accelerated online BA degree is offered in five week segments. If you have prior college credits equivalent to an AA degree, you will earn this online Bachelor of Arts degree in less than two-and-a-half years. Students studying Community Health will be equipped with a diverse set of skills in the areas of community engagement, community health education and promotion, and community action research necessary for improving the health of communities.

Current health professionals may broaden their knowledge of techniques for engaging communities in health across sectors.
